Selection policy announced for 2019 Youth Nations Cup
England Athletics are pleased to announce the Selection policy for 2019 Youth Nations Cup is now available.
This event for Under 18 athletes will take place at the Morton stadium, Dublin on 3 August.
It is important to England Athletics to have successful individual performances at the Youth Nations Cup as we recognise their importance in the development of our senior international athletes towards success at the Senior Commonwealth Games. Therefore the selection policy has been created to nominate a team to achieve the best possible results at the Youth Nations Cup.
There will be a full range of track and field events, with hurdles and implement weights appropriate to the U18 age group (athletes born in 2002 and 2003). At this stage England Athletics also intend to select Relay teams at 4x100m and a Medley Relay.
The final team will be selected in a single meeting to be held on Monday 22 July 2019. The following will be considered by selectors:
- Performances must be achieved between 1 January 2019 to 21 July 2019
- Recommendations from England Athletics and UKA Coaching staff
- Previous age-group competition history
- Head-to-head competitive records
- Current form and fitness
