County Development

The region comprises of four county areas:

• Humberside
• North Yorkshire
• South Yorkshire
• West Yorkshire

This section of the site will cover local development work in these areas in particular County Management Groups and Local Development Groups.

County Management Groups

Since the summer the County Action Groups in West Yorkshire and  Humberside have restructured into County Management groups and their role is to manage the county development plans working together with the County Sports Partnerships and England Athletics. These groups have a direct link to the local athletics development groups. South Yorkshire & North Yorkshire are currently being developed.

Local Athletics Development Groups

We now have established an excellent total of 21 local athletics development groups across the region who’s members include clubs, schools, facility management, CSP’s and local authorities. These groups are of great importance to England Athletics as we want to devolve as much resources to these groups so they can co-ordinate and drive athletics forward at a local level. We are now in the process of formalising of our groups and developing local priorities our next step will to engage with Road Running and Fell clubs to ensure they are included in local delivery.
