West Midlands Regional Council
The Council has elected a new Chair following John Graves’ appointment as the Chair of the England Council. In his place, Chris Lockley who is a vastly experienced timekeeper and Chair of the Staffordshire County Association, has accepted the appointment as the Regional Council Chair.
Chris’ first task was to finalise the responsibilities and contacts for the discrete Council groups that have been established over the last few months. The groups are now looking to work even more closely with people, particularly at the “grassroots”, with the remit to push forward to implement the Regional strategy and priorities “to make a sustainable difference” to athletics in the West Midlands.
To view information about the Regional Council and contact details please see the attachment below. If you require any information or wish to contribute to any of the groups, please contact either the respective people on the contact list or the Regional office on 0121 356 8849.
How can we help you?
The West Midlands Regional Office team and the Council have consulted with as a wide a range of people in the sport as possible to form an opinion on how best we can work together to help athletes, volunteers and clubs within our region.
The region has funds to meet the specific objectives of “increasing capacity i.e. the numbers of athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers etc and improving performance” but not for capital projects.
The regional office can arrange for someone to visit you in order to discuss ways in which we can help you, but first you will need to have your development plan up to date so that we can target what your club needs or we can help with the process of formulating your development plan.
