The Welfare Officer will

 

Liaise with Regional Teams & Regional Councils to review how they can meet their responsibilities to deliver requirements for Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport including

 

  • Acting as National Lead Officer to coordinate this area of work and develop national policies and procedures

  • Supporting the development of Regional Lead Officers in partnership with Regional teams and councils

  • Identifying local and regional training needs for provision of Safeguarding and Protecting Children training and Time to Listen training for Club Welfare Officers

  • Developing support structures for Club Welfare Officers

  • Exploring links with Club Mark

  • Working with UKA to meet statutory responsibilities

  • To offer information, advice and support to EA staff and volunteers, athletics clubs and club welfare officer on welfare and safeguarding issues

  • Act as Coordinator under the Disciplinary and Grievance Policies and Procedures

  • To offer advice and support to Regional teams & Regional Councils

  • To resolve issues of jurisdiction with UKA

  • To appoint Investigating Officers on behalf of Regional Managers under the Disciplinary Procedures

  • To establish a structure to share good practice, review cases and practical application of the policies and procedures

  • To develop Clubs Disciplinary and Grievance Policies and Procedures to be used as resource and guidance materials for clubs

  • To develop and deliver training to clubs and associations
