As a club do you often say “we haven’t got enough volunteers” or “it’s always the same few people”? In this section of the website we will aim to give you a few ideas on how to boost the number of volunteers helping out at your club.
- Why not take a look at our Volunteer Toolkit which includes top tips and resources for recruiting and retaining volunteers? Templates of all the resources listed within the toolkit can be downloaded and tailored to your club’s specific needs by clicking here.
- As a sport we can learn from one another. Click here and read about what clubs up and down the Country are doing to proactively recruit and retain volunteers.
- England Athletics have worked with sports coach UK to produce a bespoke workshop aimed at helping clubs to better support their coaches. The workshop will explore current practices around supporting coaches and allow clubs and Networks to share good practice in this area. Click here to find out more.
Whether you are a club looking to encourage more people to get involved as a coach or an official, or an organisation that understands the value of having qualified volunteers in your area we have resources to help you. There are downloadable resources to help you enable people to identify the correct qualification for them and tell them about courses in your area. See www.englandathletics.org/coursepromotion for more details.
You can also request free paper copies of the resources - get in touch with June Swift (see below).
