SW Team in Belgium 2008

Selections were made again from the South West Inter counties at Exeter and a strong team of seniors, under 20s and a few under 17’s travelled to Belgium for a match, plus to watch the Van Damme – Golden League International at Brussels.  Athletes reported that the experience was inspiring, excellent, awesome and a lifetime experience. As well as watching athletes such as Usain Bolt and the retirement of Kim Gevaert, athletes were treated to a concert at the end with fireworks to conclude.

The following day of competition was also a fantastic experience for athletes to compete in another country with different rules and language to get used to.  A number came away with fantastic performances including Danny Talbot who won the men’s 100 and 200m.
