30 officials from the south west region attended two training days at Exeter and Bath to go through EDM (Electronic measuring system) for field judging.
19 attended the first day at Exeter on the 31st March and had detailed experience in using the equipment as demonstrated by Peter Lee who travelled down from Hertfortshire to deliver the course.
Bath encountered more blustery conditions but the day was more than worthwhile according to those 11 attending. overall the weekend provided valuable training and experience for our field officials.
It is now hoped to hire the equipment at some of the key regional fixtures to enable these officials to progress and raise standards of officiating in the region. It will also support our officials at major events where this equipment is frequently used and so enabling our officials to attend higher level events.
The day was 'informative and thoroughly enjoyable' according to Roger Lee who set up the events on behalf of the region.
