Campaign to save Tooting Bec track

Over 200 people came to Tooting Bec track at short notice on Sunday 9th November to show support for the campaign to save Tooting Bec Athletics track, the future of the track has been subject to speculation following a series of leaked council documents what imply that the track could be handed over to outside groups in the next financial year as Wandsworth Council look to make cuts.

Track and Field Officials required for visually impaired event

Metro Blind Sport are looking for officiating support at the ‘Metro Athletics Open’ on 20th June 2015, held in East London. This exciting Track and Field event for new and competing athletes across the UK who are vision impaired, is supported by England Athletics and the Run! Project, providing a pathway to compete at an international level.

Hertford and Ware AC's Clubmark Celebrations

Hertford and Ware Combine Athletics Club were recently presented with their Accredited Clubmark Status certificate by Karen Stephanou (Club and Coach Support Officer for Essex and Herts).  Karen commented, "It’s been a pleasure to award HAWCS with their certificate. The Club have only been affiliated since last year and have already completed clubmark and 70 members and increasing."

London to host IPC World Championships Marathon in 2015

IPC Athletics, the international federation for para-athletics, and London Marathon Ltd announced today that the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon will host the IPC Athletics World Championships marathon events on Sunday 26 April 2015.

Olympic Lifting

For all Coaches and Athletes.  The workshop will explore different methods of strength and power development with a focus on Olympic lifting and other strength related movement patterns. Planning along with the strength-power continuum will also be covered. Coaches are welcome to bring their strength programme to discuss with Rob Thickpenny the after the session.
