Lijana Kaziow  lkaziow@hotmail.co.uk
Coaching portfolio holder

Lijana has been involved in athletics for nearly 20 years, starting with competing, coaching and more recently officiating.  She was the first Chair of the Athletics Youth Advisory Group and now sits on the European Athletics Young Leaders Youth Team; acting as a link between the group and the European Athletics Development Department.

Lijana is a tutor of both coaching and officiating qualifications for England Athletics. She has completed all event group qualifications as of May 2015 and has attended a variety of officiating courses too. She shares relevant knowledge on the courses and workshops that she delivers. Previously, she was one of the first mentors on the YST National Young Coaches Academy for athletics and helped organise the AthleAcademy pilots.  In the past she focused on youth development: from coaching at her local club, to running Star: Track schemes and to this day, still works with Sportshall Athletics.

Lijana has been using Athletics 365 since 2010 and as such was on the NCDP for Youth Development. She has been working with England Athletics staff to pilot Athletics 365 Academies in a number of locations nationwide. This is to increase the provision of athletics across the country, of which the coaching workforce is integral to. This is operated through Youth Athletics CIC whereby any surplus generated funds qualifications for young people.

In her time as a regional council member she has consulted on the coach education system, tracked the development of coaches within the area, mentored individuals through the AC course and assisted clubs with youth structure. All in a bid to share her passion for athletics and increase participation within track and field athletics.

When not involved with athletics, she spends her time teaching or lecturing."
