Aims Our plan was very detailed and far reaching however please see below our vision of what the future will hold.
  • To promote shared practice of Excellence throughout member clubs
  • To improve the level of coaching
  • To introduce coaching
  • To promote competition to raise standards and encourage participation
How our members will benefit: Clubs with Junior sections
  • Support of the  Network co-ordinator  to assist with progressing the aims of the junior section.
  • Improved coaching structure which will provide more coaches and more experienced and knowledgeable coaches.
  • Provision of competition including Sportshall and Quadkids in conjunction with the city network,  we will also provide other competitions where appropriate such as Street Athletics as an outreach to the local communities
  • Shared knowledge/ideals and working together  for the common good of the sport.
  • Improved membership both in terms of numbers and ability.
  • Shared resources and facilities (shared hire of a track for training etc)
  • Schools links and coaching through the SSP funding

Clubs that are predominantly Road Running/Adult

  • The network  co-ordinator/coach will work with clubs, with the support of England Athletics, to progress the clubs Network linked individual aims, for example in coaching and increased membership.
  • Coaching support through the flying coach scheme and the network co-ordinator.
  • Potential for increased membership through the Run in England scheme which will be facilitated by the Network co-ordinator on behalf of the club.
  • Support with the setting up and organising of junior sections if desired, and where small junior sections are in place the opportunity to offer these higher level competition through a network “club”
  • Potential of shared facilities with other member clubs.
