Aims
  • To develop Centres of Coaching Excellence establishing County Academy venues for multi events, throws, jumps, middle distance, endurance, sprints, hurdles and disability to elevate coach knowledge and expertise and ultimately athlete performance.
  • To work with each Track and Field club to develop effective coaching and mentoring structures.
  • To deliver Network Coaching Days working with universities to access facilities and Sports Science expertise.
  • To work with the England Athletics Club and Coach Support Officer (CCSO) to identify coaching gaps in club coaching provision and provide adequate interventions.
  • To deliver projects to sustain 16-18 year olds in the sport.
  • To assist in the recruitment, deployment, training and support of coaches, officials and volunteers working with the Athletics Network.
  • To monitor and evaluate Athletics activities and report to the Athletics Network Executive Committee on a quarterly basis and produce case studies on the Club Buddies, Beginners Courses for Road Running and the Centres for Coaching Excellence.
