| Aims | The NYAN comprises a geographically diverse range of clubs who jointly are active in all aspects of athletics. The clubs encompass track and field, road, cross country and fell. Being such a large County it is easy to centre athletics facilities and support on the larger towns and cities such as York and Harrogate. However, the Ryedale and Hambleton areas are also highly active. The network will enable all the clubs in the County to come together and improve provision and opportunity for all. City of York Council are promoting a new sports stadium facility to be built in York and encompassing football, rugby, cycling and athletics as well as other sports and uses. The Network has a place on the project’s Partnership Team and will be able to work for the benefit all clubs in the region in order to secure appropriateness and use of the facilities for all. The Network will also be able to coordinate coach and athlete training, mentoring and the sharing of best practise in a way that smaller independent clubs may otherwise have been unable to do. |
| Key Projects | In Year 1 the network will focus on establishing the infrastructure, to facilitate delivery of our aims in Years 2 and 3 |
