Aims
  • Increase clubs’ junior membership through improvement of school club links
  • Develop shared coaching structure across network, supporting CCSO’s LCDP
  • Special emphasis on increasing opportunities for athletes with a disability and their coaches.
  • Increase the number of coaches and officials across the network
  • Develop appropriate local competition
Key Projects
  • Further develop the current agreements in place between Clubs and School Sport Partnerships (x14) to provide activity and support appropriate to the local need.
  • Deliver the ‘Including athletes with a disability in your athletics club’ course in every network club
  • Provide publicity materials for Athletic Network
  • Ensure structured club inductions evenings are delivered across the network
  • To develop regular County Team awards evenings
  • Set up Shared Coaching Scheme
  • To encourage and develop strong annual club championships in partnership with local road running clubs and SSP disability programs To formally encourage athletes and young adults into the day to day running of proactive, forward thinking clubs.
  • Support the Playground to Podium programme through club coaches involvement in Talent Identification events and CAADC days
  • Run County Coach + Athlete Development & Performance Squads for U15/U17 athletes and all network coaches
  • Run county performance squad training sessions specifically for athletes with disabilities
  • Disability specific training equipment available to athletes performing at Regional and National level
  • Providing extensive coach development & mentoring opportunities

  • 24th March Closed Athletics Leaders course - Watford
  • 31st March Steeplechase Athlete/Coach development event -  Watford 9-1pm
  • 14th April Come Jump and Hurdle Athlete/Coach development event  - Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead 9-5pm
  • 14th April Officials' courses am, practise officiating pm - Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead.
  • 15th April Steeplechase Athlete/Coach development event - Parliament Hill 9-1pm
