Senior GBR v ESP v CZE v NED v FRA: 4 men and 4 women per team.
U23 GBR v ESP v FRA: 3 men and 3 women per team.
U20 GBR v ESP v FRA: 3 men and 3 women per team.
Selection Criteria
The team will be selected on 7th Jan 2013.
Seniors - Top 2 at England Champs (5th/6th Jan 2013) with 2 discretionary places.
U23 - Selection will be based upon performances up to 6th Jan but with a strong emphasis on athletes participating in the England Championships.
U20 - Top 2 at England Champs (5th/6th Jan 2013) with 1 discretionary place.

The England Team will be selected against the following criteria:
• Performance in the 2013 indoor and outdoor seasons, head to head performance record form the 2013 season, performances from the 2012 season
• For selection to be made against the 2012 season the athlete or their coach must notify the Team Leader, Peter Stanley, (pstanley@englandathletics.org) or Team Manager, Andy Day (aday@englandathletics.org) of their desire to compete prior to selection.

Overall aim of the England Athletics International Programme
England Athletics will field international teams in a variety of events throughout the track and field season. The primary aim of selections for these teams will be to contribute to the development of potential Olympic athletes via way of exposure to international competition and environment. The secondary purpose of the selections will be to enable the best athletes in England to compete internationally. Upwardly mobile, developing athletes of any age will be considered for inclusion in international competition and some emphasis will be placed on the Under 23 age group.
Competition Programme
England Athletes will work with UKA to identify inclusive competition opportunities for both the indoor and outdoor seasons 2011 seeking to cause a minimum of clashes which may cause problems for athletes.
Initial Athlete contact from England Athletics
The England Competition Programme with selection dates will be put on the England Athletics website as soon as possible. National Event Managers and England Athletic staff will be asked to nominate new talent that is progressing to international level. UKA Performance Managers and National Coach mentors will be emailed a full list of competition opportunities and will be expected to let the selectors know the competition requirements of their athletes before the selection dates. National Coach Mentors will inform Head of Teams and Competitions of athletes requirements.
Team Management
It is the aim that all England Athletics international teams that team management opportunities will be offered to volunteer coaches where possible, with an aim that 50 percent of team management will come from outside the full time professional EA/UKA ranks. National Coach Mentors will work with the coaches they are working with to identify potential team managers and offer international coaching opportunities through the Head of Teams and Competitions where appropriate. Full training will be offered to all new team managers, under the direction of the lead coach for each team and feedback will be offered to all team staff after each competition. All team managers will be expected to feedback to personal coaches on the performances and other observations of athletes within 48 hours of returning to the UK. Nationality will not play a part in the selection of Team Managers.
Collation of nominations
England Head of Teams and Competitions will collate team nominations for the final selection. Nominations will be ranked in order of priority before being presented to the final England selection panel.

- England Athletics Head of Coaching
- England Athletics Head of Teams and Competitions
- England Athletics National Coach Mentor (NCM)
- UKA Performance Representative– usually a Technical Development Manager
- Three representatives of national coach mentors – in relevant events
- Statistician
Selection Criteria
1. The teams selected for England will not necessarily be the best athletes in England. See note 3.
2. England teams will provide competition opportunities for athletics progressing up the athlete pathway and for some funded athletes in need of competition.
3. England will not keep using the same athletes for its team but would instead aim to provide competition opportunities where needed. Teams will be selected using the following criteria:
- Athletes needing competition as part of their preparation for major championships
- Athletes needing qualifying standards opportunity
- Athletes returning from injury
- Development opportunities
