“bringing athletics to the people in a fun, vibrant and
inclusive format and to the places where the people
want to take part and feel comfortable doing so.”

AthleFIT will be delivered by trainers and leaders who will be trained using our own 3 hour training programme so that we can ensure that those taking part receive a  consistent delivery of this new fun fitness programme which will "take athletics to the people".

Athlefit - from the videoUltimately AthleFIT should be fun, flexible, accessible and challenging for the individual whatever their level of experience or indeed whatever their expectation or aspiration. AthleFIT combines the best of what are fundamentally athletic running, jumping and throwing events applied with the traditional circuit training approach.

England Athletics CEO Chris Jones said, "It really is about getting back to basics and for many of those people who experienced Sportshall athletics as a youngster this will be like a trip down memory lane for them. The next year will see England Athletics introduce an AthleFIT leaders' workshop alongside other resources in anticipation of a nationwide launch in June 2013."

For more information or to organise leader training please contact the Athlefit National project manager John Skevington jskevington@englandathletics.org.
