Hosting an event
As part of England Athletics’ Are you ready? campaign, clubs are being invited to join in the Olympic and Paralympic celebrations by hosting a special event
Athletics Community Days (12th August – 29th August) - Hosting an Athletics Community Day is the chance for your club to become the heart of the local community during one of the most exciting times our sport has ever seen. These weeks between the Olympic and Paralympic Games are the perfect chance for your club to ensure you can deliver a lasting legacy by hosting an Athletics Community Day.
A community day will give everyone of all ages the chance to try some athletics but also have fun and socialise. The events will aim to not only show what athletics people can get involved but show them the fun, social, community side of athletics. Try Athletics Days - To celebrate the 100 days to go milestones, clubs were invited to host a ‘Try Athletics Day’ between 16th April and 20th April 2012. This day was a great chance for clubs to open their doors to the community and host a fun event for members of the public to try Athletics, whether people want to run, jump, throw or give everything a go.
