Annual Conference and AGM

The Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Northern Athletics Officials Association takes place in October.  At the AGM the members elect the Association Committee for the coming year and are always looking for new blood to bring fresh ideas to the Association.

For 2011 there were two distinguished guest speakers:

• Alan Bell: Former chair of UKA Technical Committee International starter at the 2011 World Championships.  Start Coordinator for London 2012
• Chris Cohen: Past chairman of IPC Athletics.  Currently Vice Chairman of the IPC Sports Council.  Competition Director for London 2012.

In 2012 speakers were

• David Brown who gave an insight into the workings of the UKA Welfare Department and the work they do to protect young and vulnerable athletes.
• Mike Dooling who spoke of his memories of being a Torchbearer and his time at the Olympics themselves.

As always there is no charge for the conference for members of the  Association but numbers need to be confirmed in advance as there will be no spare meals on the day.  We'll let you know what the plans for 2013 are when we've made them.
