Athletics 365 takes off in Kent thanks to Network support
Funding secured by the Kent Athletics Network (KAN) has enabled over 450 young people from all over Kent to take part in introduction to athletics courses. The network successfully applied for over £10k of Sport Unlimited Funding.

QuadKids going from strength to strength
The QuadKids movement continues to move forward with another outstanding network event hosted by Highgate Harriers. Mother Nature loses (again) versus Highgate Harriers QuadKids. The wind huffed, the wind puffed, and the wind blew as hard as it could but it could not put 80 children off their QuadKids athletics mission.

BT Paralympic World Cup debut for young sprinter
Last summer 15-year-old sprinter Kyle Powell was competing in local league fixtures for his club St.Mary’s Richmond AC...this year he was invited to compete for Great Britain in the BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester!

Playground to Podium – proven success
Playground to Podium County Athlete Assessment Days (CAAD) are proving hugely successful; for example in the North of England a number of potential athletics stars have been identified and encouraged to take their talents further.

NYAN to host Introduction to QuadKids & Super8 Workshop
The North Yorkshire McCain Athletics Network will be hosting their next coach development workshop on Tuesday 12th July. The workshop will provide an introduction and explanation of QuadKids and Super8, and how they can be easily implemented within club training sessions.

Birmingham Athletics Network initiate School-Club Links
All clubs rely heavily on volunteers to help grease and oil the machinery that keeps them operating. Clubs have also relied heavily, in the past, on local schools to provide the talent that our volunteer coaches and team managers have fashioned into champions.

Super8 gets thumbs up in Kent
The Super8 format has been given the thumbs up by schools in Kent. Super 8 is the new format being promoted by England Athletics for secondary schools, with teams of eight boys and eight girls competing over eight events and with the scores of all the athletes added together to give the team score.
