Kelly was impressive during her English Schools competitions and since then she established herself as a strong heptathlete and pentathlete. She has competed in two Olympic Games, finishing third in 2004 and fourth in 2008. Due to injury she has recently decided to specialise in 400m and won the 400m final at the EIS Indoor Arena in Sheffield in February 2011.
