Jessica Ennis is undoubtedly one of the most popular and successful English athletes today, and her progression through the English Schools system to worldwide prominence is a result of her hard work and dedication. She really came to the fore in 2005 when she finished 1st in the World Junior Championships Heptathlon, 3rd in the World University Championships Heptathlon and 1st in the AAA Indoor (Now England Athletics Championships) Heptathlon.

The following year she achieved Bronze in the Melbourne Commonwealth Games and has continued to improve and break records since. She couldn't compete in the 2008 Olympics due to injury and pulled out of the 2010 Commonwealth Games, but was back to win silver in the 2011 World Championships and in the 2012 World Indoor Chanmpionships. There is little doubt that she will add even more prestigious medals to her collection.
