About Clubmark Plus
England Athletics NW (EANW) has set criteria for achieving Clubmark, to enable clubs to become nationally recognised for their development of athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers. These clubs will be recognised by all sports partnerships, Sport England and local authorities, amongst others. In addition athletic clubs that achieve Clubmark will now have access to a Clubmark grant fund, and will receive priority with regards to other funding opportunities provided by EANW.
Priorities for funding - The key priorities for funding are:
[1] To support projects and programmes that will raise standards of athletic performance across all athletics disciplines and events.
[2] To support club based initiatives that attract and retain members and volunteers. EANW is particularly keen to support applications which target priority groups:
- Women and girls
- Disabled persons (physical/mental disability)
- Black and Ethnic minority groups
The Application Process
How much can we apply for?
Clubs can apply for between £100 and £1,000.
How often can we apply for?

How to apply
Clubs working towards clubmark
The Clubmark Plus grant form is now part of the clubmark process and your regional team of staff will help you put together your application prior to your final submission.
Your grant application will be assessed at the same time as your clubmark folder and successful grant applications will be processed at the same time as your clubmark award.
NB It is vital that you work closely with your regional point of contact to ensure that the bid is agreed locally.
Clubs who achieved clubmark in the past year
If your club has achieved clubmark status within the past 12months you will be eligible to apply immediately for a Clubmark Plus grant. Please contact the NW regional office for a grant application form or download here.
Clubs who achieved clubmark over 12months ago
If your club achieved clubmark longer than 12months ago you will need to undertake a simple review reassessment (please contact the regional office to arrange). Upon successful completion of this reassessment your club will be eligible to apply for Clubmark Plus funds.
