North East Young Guns Show Great Spirit in Stormont XC
The leading performance came from Elswick Harrier, Phil Hurst who finished 3rd in U17 Mens event. Tim Calder (Tynedale) was 16th. In the U17W event Helen Gertig (Blaydon) was 12th, Kirsty Legg, running for the North was 18th and New Marke Harrier, Jess Russon 19th.
In the U15B event Michael Priestley (Gosforth) was 5th just ahead of North East teammate Mark Shaw (NMH) in 6th place. In the girls event Sigourney Bell (Gateshead) was an excellent 5th followed closely by Rosie King (Gosforth) on 7th place
In the Senior events Alexandra Snook (Shildon) was 30th, while Felicity Milton running for Durham City Harriers was in the leading pack finishing in 8th. In the men's event Ryan McLeod (Elswick) was 13th but the leading NE senior was Mark Hood of Sunderland who finished 10th.
In the U20 Men's race Andrew Mason (Middlesbrough AC) was 15th.
