At the last Regional Council Meeting on 23rd April, Bill McGuirk announced his resignation from the Council and as Chair of England Athletics North East Regional Council.
Bill will be greatly missed as Chair and as a member of the elected council in the region. He provided the familiar face that led the NECAA alongside the Council during the first two years of England Athletics existance.
Much of the success of the past have been inspired or led by Bill himself. He led a cross country team to Belfast in January and took great pride in the regional successes at last years English Schools and UK Schools Games.
The new Chair has not yet been announced but the region will be circulating nomination papers shortly for Council elections due to take place in June.
