Regional Plan

The North East Regional Plan is the result of extensive consultation and research. The sport of athletics has undergone major change in the last twelve months resulting in regional delivery through a regional workforce to serve the sport of athletics.

The plan stems from the need for a regional delivery plan to support the national strategies that Athletics (through the “One Stop Plan” for Athletics in the UK) and sport in general (through the Government’s  “Game Plan” document) have produced.

The regional plan takes into account the much-valued role of volunteer coaches, officials and club administrators. Through this document England Athletics (North East) acknowledges the role of the volunteers and sets out to support clubs across the region.

Our vision is for thriving clubs across the region. In this document we set out our strategy for increasing the capacity of the sport as we move towards 2012. It is also important to measure our success through the monitoring and evaluation of performances across all age groups and all events within the region.
