The London 2017 World Para Athletics and IAAF World Championships may be over but the Inspiration Programme continues and there are still lots of ways for your club or school to get involved and make the most of the enthusiasm for the sport that has been generated.
Bicester Athletics Club hosted an 'end of summer season fun competition' at the club and used it as an opportunity to deliver a volunteer recruitment session to try and engage more parents within the club. The event was organised to celebrate all the hard work from parents and athletes and promote future volunteering opportunities within the club that the parents could get involved in.
Throughout the Summer our Inspiration Clubs will be providing opportunities for disabled people to try athletics at their Inspiration Para Athletics Days. Inspired by the summer of sport and catering for all impairments, these days will provide a great introduction in to Para-Athletics for anyone wanting to try the sport for the first time or a fun day of athletics for those already participating.
Athletes from Cauis House Youth Club and Belgrave Harriers inthe Battersea community have been treated to a surprise visit from some of the USA Track and Field Team, who are in London to compete in the IAAF World Championships.
Passionate about everyone getting involved in our sport? Want to do something to celebrate and access a small grant to help? England Athletics and the Team Personal Best campaign (www.teampersonalbest.org) are inviting clubs to hold Inspiration Days (ParaAthletics Inclusive Days) to encourage their communities to get involved and try our sport this summer.
Volunteers are brilliant. It's as simple as that, and we will take as many opportunities as possible to celebrate this. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of annual volunteer awards, our opportunity to celebrate the great things they do. We have passed the halfway stage of the awards nomination period; this year looks set to be bigger and better than ever before!

Between July and September, England Athletics, funded by Spirit of 2012 are encouraging clubs to host a Volunteering Open Day or Officials Taster Session as a way of inspiring more people to become volunteers within your clubs. And to help you we have a range of free resources you can order including T-shirts, pens, badges and wristbands.
