Young Sporting Ambassador remembered

A 5k race and 3k fun run is being held on Sunday September 11th at Sandwell Valley to raise money for a charity and victim support set up in memory of three members of the same Sandwell Family who were killed in the Tunisian terrorist attack.

Indoor league success sees young local athletes shine in record year

The Sandwell indoor athletics league continues to amaze, setting record attendances the after school League now in its 11th year. It provides indoor competition for key stage 3 pupils aged 11 to 14, and has been full to capacity from the first match in October up to the finals night in March.

West Midlands Region 2016 London Mini Marathon Trials

The West Midlands Region 2016 London Mini Marathon Trials will take place on 20th February, at the Stourport Cycleway. These trials are for selection into the West Midlands team for the London Mini Marathon which takes place on 24th April 2016.

Planning a half or full marathon practical workshop

Staffordshire Athletics Network are pleased to promote their two workshops for distance runners. The practical workshop takes place in 2 locations: Penkridge, Stafford and Staffordshire University on 28th November and 5th December.

Midlands and South West Regional Technical Days

The Regional Technical Days are a series of workshops taking place in six different locations around the country over the weekends of the 7th or 8th November 2015 and 19th 20th March 2016.

West Midlands volunteer Awards 2015

This year's West Midland regional awards were held at the West Midlands Police Sports and Conference Centre, Tally Ho! in Edgbaston Birmingham. The evening organised by the West Midlands regional council celebrates the work of clubs, coaches, leaders and officials for their contribution to the sport.

Birchfield Harriers researching their members' history during WW1

Birchfield Harriers have been successful in gaining a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to help research the history of the club's members who took part in the First World War. The stories unearthed so far tell of heroic actions, many using the athletic abilities of the stag bearers, "Running between the Lines", as they could run to relight a fuse, relay a message or throw a grenade
