In partnership with Kent Sport, Ashford Leisure Trust organised the first Kent Schools Learning Disability Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 29th March at Mote Park. The event forms part of the Kent School Games disability programme of events and involved 145 runners from 10 Kent special schools.
England Athletics would like to update you on its planned delivery from April 2017. This work is directly aligned with the Strategic Plan for the period which was announced last year, and will be supported by the Sport England funding for the sport which was announced in February.
Kent had four teams and 33 runners represent the county at the National Primary Schools Cross Country Finals held at Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire on Saturday 25th March 2017. The County' young athletes won two individual medals and the Year 6 Team title.
The Primary and Year 7 National Schools' Cross Country Championships, endorsed by England Athletics, took place on Saturday 25th March at Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire.
Emulating their U20 and Senior England team counterparts, the England Athletics School teams also took top spot in all their SIAB cross country races. The Schools' International XC took place on the same day and venue as the Home Countries International XC held at the Margam Country Park near Port Talbot, Wales last Saturday.

Following a marvellous New Balance English Schools' AA Cross Country Championships at the challenging venue at Norfolk Showground last weekend, teams were selected to compete at the SIAB (Schools' International Athletic Board) Cross Country International in Wales which takes place on the 25th March.
74 young athletes took part in the Ashford Leisure Trust junior athletics competition held at the Julie Rose Stadium on Saturday 18th March. The event was for young athletes from primary school years R, 1, 2, 3 and 4 with youngsters taking part in five events throughout the morning.
