The Irish Schools' AA hosted a high class SIAB (Schools International Athletics Board) Track and Field international in Dublin, showcasing top British talent from across the home countries in the U17 age group. In gorgeous conditions, albeit very windy, the English Schools' team were victorious in both the boys' and girls' team competitions, with outstanding performances by athletes across all four teams.
There were superb performances throughout a packed programme of activity which saw a National Age Group record, championship bests being smashed, and tremendous competition throughout the day.
The field eventers were to the fore on the first day of the New Balance English Schools' AA Track Field Championships at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium. New Championship Best Performances were set and medals decided amongst England's best young athletes.
A very strong U18 English Schools' AA team travelled to France to participate in the ISF Jean Humbert Memorial World Schools' Track and Field Cup. This illustrious event featured teams representing 26 nations from five continents. The ESAA Girls' team ultimately won the World Schools' Cup, the ESAA Boys' team finished second and combined results meant that England were the overall world champions of the ISF World Schools' Cup.
The world's largest children's running initiative, GO Run For Fun, together with The Daily Mile, brought together 5000 primary school children from London and across Britain take part in a 2km fun run at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. Cheering on the children at the event were VIP guests from the world of sport including Olympians Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson.
The ESAA National Championships will take place on 7th-8th July at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. Tickets and programmes are now available to buy online for this event, although they will be for sale at the gate too.

The International School Sport Federation World Cup takes place in Nancy, France from 24th June to 30th June 2017. The English Schools' AA have selected a girls' and boys' team to compete against athletes from 28 different countries at the event.

In partnership with Kent Sport, Ashford Leisure Trust organised the first Kent Schools Learning Disability Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 29th March at Mote Park. The event forms part of the Kent School Games disability programme of events and involved 145 runners from 10 Kent special schools.
