The England Athletics 10,000m championships are to be contested in the 25-lap races to be held atStretford on Saturday 19 August as part of the BMC fixture.The 10,000m races will provide opportunities for male and female athletes seeking to improve their times for the distance, as well as seeing the championships medals being decided.
It was a mixed day for the England team at the Snowdon International Mountain Race held on 15th July; the men retained their team title and the women lost out on aggregate time to Scotland. The day started with low cloud and light rain which was ideal for the runners, England had strong teams in both men and women's races even with a last minute injury to last year's runner up in the women's race Heidi Dent.
The BMC Endurance Coaches National Symposium is for all coaches, whether or not members of the BMC. The event will take place on 13th August in Stratford near the London Stadum and includes workshops from speakers Nic Bideau, David Lowes, and Dr Jon Rogers and an interview with Jess Judd and Coach.
England Athletics are pleased to announce a junior mountain running trial race in Sedbergh on 27th August for the 2017 Junior Home International which will be hosted by Scotland and take place at Peebles on 16th September.
The battle to be crowned Great Run's fastest running club has intensified, with three more clubs taking team honours in races across the country. And there are more opportunities for clubs to get amongst the prizes on the way.
England Athletics are pleased to announce the launch of the next round of Club Run and welcome applications from off track and road running clubs across the country. In the last twelve months there were 75 club run visits and approximately 1000 running participants taking part in the sessions, which were led by 21 experienced coaches and mentors from the National Coach Development Programme.
Aspiring Commonwealth Games athletes have an opportunity to run quick times over 10,000m at the England 10,000m Championships. This is one of the last chances to try to gain selection for the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
The world's largest children's running initiative, GO Run For Fun, together with The Daily Mile, brought together 5000 primary school children from London and across Britain take part in a 2km fun run at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. Cheering on the children at the event were VIP guests from the world of sport including Olympians Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson.
The Snowdon International Mountain race takes place on 15th July 2017 at Llanberis, North Wales. England has a long tradition of success at the event, with both men and women the defending team champions. We have selected very strong teams, including Chris Farrell and Heidi Dent, both of whom finished 2nd last year.
