BMC Endurance Coaches National Symposium: 13th August

The BMC Endurance Coaches National Symposium is for all coaches, whether or not members of the BMC. The event will take place on 13th August in Stratford near the London Stadum and includes workshops from speakers Nic Bideau, David Lowes, and Dr Jon Rogers and an interview with Jess Judd and Coach.

BASC bursaries available for coaches and officials

The British Athletics Supporters' Club (BASC) is looking to assist Coaches and Officials with bursaries. BASC will award sums of up to £250 to successful applicants who wish to pursue higher standards. This might possibly, but not exclusively, involve attending a qualification course run by UK Athletics, England Athletics or similar organisations.

Throws Community - Coach Education Q&A

England Athletics are currently investigating the potential of organising an Athletics Coach course that is only open to coaches who are involved in Throws events (including Athletes, Parents, existing Coaching Assistants, or Level 1 Coaches). To guide the planning and development of this idea, and to gauge the opinion of those that would be potentially interested in attending such a coursewe will be hosting a QA session at the Senior Championships being held at Bedford International Stadium.

Athletics Coach Pilot Courses

These Pilot Courses are part of the updated Athletics Coach qualification currently being developed by UKA. Places are now available on these pilot courses which include elective content on Day 3 where candidates can choose between Speed, Throws, Jumps or Endurance. Day 4 assessments will also focus on the selected event group.

Applications invited for next round of Club Run

England Athletics are pleased to announce the launch of the next round of Club Run and welcome applications from off track and road running clubs across the country. In the last twelve months there were 75 club run visits and approximately 1000 running participants taking part in the sessions, which were led by 21 experienced coaches and mentors from the National Coach Development Programme.

Free coach workshops in Yorkshire to promote healthy athlete development

Researchers at Leeds Beckett University are working on a CoachMADE project funded by the International Olympic Committee. As part of the project, they are offering coaches the opportunity to attend free workshops, which will take place at Leeds Beckett University in September 2017. The workshops will promote healthy athlete development and sustained engagement in sport.

Bookings now online for Event Group Integration days

The Event Group Coach programme is designed to provide licensed Athletics Coaches with a greater understanding and awareness of the issues involved with coaching athletes at the Event Group Development stage of the athlete development pathway. The Event Group Integration Day is the final step in gaining an Event Group Qualification. Integration days for Endurance, Throws, Jumps, and Sprints and Hurdles are now confirmed and can be booked.
