26.Jul.12 M60 Athletics Network initiative begins this weekend
As London 2012 begins this weekend, the next generation of Track and Field Olympic hopefuls will compete in a new initiative hosted at Longford Park, Stretford. The 2012 M60 Athletics Network Inter-Club Trophy Meeting will take place on 29th July, and will feature a number of clubs located in and around the M60 motorway area.

24.Jul.12 Merseyside Network creates Olympic coaching legacy
Venues around the country have been hosting international athletes and coaches preparing for the Olympic Games. Edgehill University has been the base to Oceanic Island countries - and local Merseyside coaches have been supporting their preparation and training.

20.Jul.12 Olympic Torchbearer inspiring the next generation of athletes
On 17th July, Altrincham and District AC held a 2012 metre relay with Alan Hardman, Olympic Torchbearer and a founder member of the club. Alan had the honour of carrying the Olympic flame through Whitefield on 23rd June.

16.Jul.12 East Cheshire Harriers a ‘thriving club open to all’
On a recent visit to East Cheshire Harriers it was clear that they were thriving in disability athletics. Recent member, Darren Stafford, has been competing in the F42, leg amputee class, across the country in the Shot and Discus.

12.Jul.12 Wigan Harriers catering for young disabled athletes
Wigan Harriers are no strangers to disability athletics. Bob Halliwell, throws coach at Wigan, already has one athlete who has competed in the Deaflympics and has now started coaching Millie Forrest who was identified at the Lancashire Playground to Podium day last year.

11.Jul.12 P2P in the North paying off
In the last few months, six Playground to Podium (P2P) days have taken place in the North. With over 330 young disabled children taking part so far it’s a great start to the programme.
