24.Oct.10 “10 out of 10” for Lea Valley Network
More than 130 youngsters between school years four to nine from the Lea Valley Network Clubs recent ly took part in the first of three ‘10 out of 10’ Network competitions. The event also saw over 60 young volunteers from the clubs offering their services for roles ranging from team managers and officials, to announcer and catering.

We are pleased that we are now able to announce the names of all the Regional Awards winners for the London Region. The 2010 England Athletics National Awards programme sees volunteers recognised for their contributions in supporting the development of the sport.

14.Oct.10 Lea Valley Network set up Race Walking Training Days
A number of winter training sessions for new and experienced race walkers will be held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre over the winter.

11.Oct.10 Middlesex University introduce QuadKids in the Gambia
A group of Middlesex University students and staff have just returned from an exciting trip to The Gambia, where they introduced the QuadKids format to a group of sports leaders. QuadKids sessions formed part of a course in Sports Leadership, Coaching and First Aid delivered by the University.

04.Oct.10 Patricia Mead 1945-2010 - Tributes being paid
Staff, volunteers and council members at England Athletics are very saddened to hear of the death of Pat Mead after her battle with illness. Pat was a great servant of the sport and, in particular, of Belgrave Harriers. Pat's was a friendly and ever enthusiastic face at events across the country and she will be sadly missed.
