  • 23.May.11 UK Athletics supports Copthall Revival plans

    North East View Barnet Copthall StadiumSaracens plans to transform Barnet Copthall Stadium would make the venue a key facility for athletics in the country according to UK Athletics.The athletics governing body has backed plans to refurbish the stadium which will be used for athletics, rugby and community sport.

  • 23.May.11 London’s Elite Shine in Loughborough University International meeting

    HARRY AA, JAMES ELLINGTONA healthy Harry Aikines- Aryeteey (Sutton & District) clocked a windy yet encouraging 10.10 in the match 100 race at the 2011 Loughborough international meeting. Representing the Loughborough student’s team, the Michael Khmel coached athlete finished head of fellow Londoner James Ellington (Newham & Essex Beagles) who also clocked a very respectable time of 10.12.

  • 19.May.11 Phil Wicks first Briton in Bristol 10k

    Phil Wicks, Sutton Park relay 2009Belgrave Harriers enjoyed further success on the road when finishing as the first team home in the Bristol 10k. To add the celebrations London’s own Phil Wick was the first Britain home in the race finishing 4th.  It's the eighth time the Belgrave have placed in this championship - but their only previous win was at Bourton-on-the-Water in 2003.
    In the women's race Getenesh Tamirat was 5th in 33:32 and Sam Amend 19th in 36:58.

    Inclusive and Active 2Nicole Evans, an athletics coach in East London and Lambeth has won the Inclusive and Active Ambassador award at the fourth London Celebrating Sport and Physical Activity ceremony, held in the London Living Rooms at City Hall on 5th May.
