    Talented athletes across South England have until 20 February to apply for funding for 2013 from the GLL Sport Foundation (GSF) – an independent athlete support scheme set up to support the next generation of sporting stars.

    On Sunday 27th January the second of three Parallel Success Coach and Athlete Talent Introduction Days took place in the South. The event was held at Newham Indoor Athletics Centre and was organised by England Athletics in partnership with UKA.

    04.Feb.13 Southern officials' conference instructive and enjoyable

    The South of England Athletics Officials' Association held its annual conference on Sunday and got a great turnout of officials from all disciplines and of different levels to attend workshops, network and listen to guest speaker Stuart Storey.

    The England Athletics Local Coach Development Programme held an endurance hub event at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.  Hosted and chaired by Area Coach Mentor David Chalfen the session was presented by successful local coach Richard Thurston of Woodford Green and Essex Ladies.

    The 6th and 7th April sees a triple competition hosted by Kingston and Poly AC; the K&P AC Open Throws Meeting is open to able bodied throwers age U15 and above, the Surrey Disability Track and Field County Championships and the Open Disability Track and Field Meeting for people who do not live in or who were not born in Surrey.
