The first sporting event in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Stadium since the London 2012 Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony will be a five mile mass participation run - ‘The National Lottery Anniversary Run’, it has been announced.

London 2012 champions Mo Farah, David Weir and Richard Whitehead are just three of the thousands of athletes who will be part of a new Mile event held in central London on Sunday 26 May.

18.Mar.13 Blind and Visually Impaired Run England group launched in Sutton
The first blind and visually impaired Run England group of its kind in the country successfully launched last Sunday 10th of March. Many Blind and Visually Impaired running enthusiasts attended the launch of the group and took part in the session on the indoor sprint track at Sutton Arena Leisure Centre.

The England Athletics Local Coach Development Programme held an endurance hub event at Lee Valley Athletics Centre. Hosted and chaired by Area Coach Mentor David Chalfen the session was presented by successful local coach Richard Thurston of Woodford Green and Essex Ladies.

As part of the ongoing support of London Virgin Marathon and England Athletics, St Mary’s EPACC had organised a Marathon workshop to be delivered on Saturday 19th January 2013. Unfortunately due to the weather this was postponed - and the organisers are unable to reschedule due to fixture changes and the availability of presenters.
