The threatened rain did not materialise and it was sunshine all the way as 38 happy, smiling young athletes aged 8 and upwards had a fun-packed morning at the Essex Athletics Network’s Try Athletics Day at the state-of-the-art Eastwood Academy track, Leigh-on-Sea on Saturday.

17.Apr.12 Essex Network Volunteer Coordinator enjoying 2012 countdown
Essex Athletics Network recruited a Volunteer Coordinator as part of their 200 days to go promotion. Hayley has been working hard with the network clubs and was heavily involved with the network’s Try Athletics Event, where 40 people took part.

Third of its kind and first this year, the Essex Athletics Network's newsletter is now available online (hard copies also available from the Network). The newsletter coincides with the half-way mark through the three-year Essex Athletics Network project.

City of Norwich AC is one of the largest clubs in the country with thriving senior and junior sections, a team of high quality coaches and many athletes competing at a national and international level. The club are providing opportunities to be part of the Olympics premier sport in the local area by taking up one of the available volunteer roles.
