17.Aug.10 Birtley Athletics Club supoprted through Gateshead McCain Athletics Network and England Athletics
Birtley Athletics Club along with the four other Network clubs in Gateshead are beginning to feel the impact of being supported by England Athletics through their Network plan. Since the successful application for funding was agreed by England Athletics in November last year Birtley AC now have three development coaches working across the Borough delivering a whole range of athletic activities to hundreds of school children.

06.Jul.10 Heroes of the North East – who will join them as the England Athletics Senior Championships come to Gateshead!
The England Athletics Senior Championships come to Gateshead on 17-18 July. The North East has never been short of athletics heroes, both homegrown, and the big names who have produced marvellous performances on the Gateshead International Stadium. As we wait to see who will stake their claim to being added to that number we look at some of the start performers of yesteryear.

The North East Region have announced that their Regional Awards evening will take place on 4th October, at the Durham County Ground, Chester-Lee-Street, Durham. The Awards recognise the work of clubs, volunteers, officials and coaches, as well as the areas of partnership and disability athletics, and reward contributions and commitment to our sport over the past 12-month period.

15.Jun.10 North of Tyne Athletics Network seeking salaried co-ordinator
The North of Tyne Athletics Network in partnership with Tyne & Wear Sport has recently been successful in securing funding for the next 3 years from England Athletics. To assist NOTAN in delivering the above objectives and drive athletics forward an exciting new position of Network Coordinator has been created.

24.May.10 Volunteering takes centre stage in Sedgefield
On May 18th over 20 people from within the club and local community gathered at Ceddesfeld Hall in Sedgefield for a 2 hour evening dedicated to volunteering.
