  • 31.May.11 David Bolarinwa on course for Europe with 10.29 clocking.

    David Bolarinwa 10.29 BedfordWhile his club were on international duty in the European clubs cup in Portugal, David Bolarinwa (Newham & Essex Beagles, coached by John Powell) was making his own road to European shores. The young beagle took his first senior title at the CAU Inter Counties championships, Bedford.

  • 31.May.11 Newham & Essex Beagles fly the flag in Europe

    Chris Tomlinson at Crystal PalaceLondon’s very own British League champions from 2010 were part of a very tight finish to the match held in Algarve, Portugal for 2011 European clubs cup. The competition is made up from all league champions from within Europe, Athletics version of the ’Champions League’. The UK representative scored 101 points some 3 points off 3rd place. The best points total scored in a while was contributed by quality performances from Chris Tomlinson (coach: Frank Attoh) winning the long jump in 8.28m (w) while also running an anchor leg in the 4x100m relay.

    31.May.11 Running leadership training for deaf or hearing impaired leaders

    As part of our efforts to make leading and participating in athletics accessible to all we are currently looking to find people who would like to be involved in a Leadership in Running Fitness training course with specific provision made for people who are deaf or hearing impaired and would like to lead a running group.

  • North Yorkshire Athletics Network NYAN

    31.May.11 NYAN to host Introduction to QuadKids & Super8 Workshop

    The North Yorkshire McCain Athletics Network will be hosting their next coach development workshop on Tuesday 12th July. The workshop will provide an introduction and explanation of QuadKids and Super8, and how they can be easily implemented within club training sessions.

  • 30.May.11 Notts host Aviva / ESAA Cross Country Championships 2011

    Some eight planning meetings, and six site meetings took place to ensure the Aviva / ESAA Cross Country Championship was the best and safest place to race. The six races at Wollaton Park proved exciting, well contested on a fast dry course, with three Nottinghamshire Athletes featuring in the top twenty places.

    29.May.11 Manchester Athletics booming

    Manchester McCain Athletics Network were ever present across Manchester’s biggest sporting weekend - Bupa Mini Junior, Manchester Great Run and Great City Games.  Club volunteers took on various roles:  participants, marshals, officials, volunteers you name it, they did it.
