Gemma Steel was overjoyed to receive confirmation that her fourth-place at the World Trials at Cofton Park in Birmingham had secured her selection as a member of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team to compete at the World Cross Country Championships.

15.Mar.11 Deaf athletes to use Europeans for World Trials
Deaf athletes are advised that, as for the UKA (Hearing) Trials, all athletes need to take part in a Trial event if they want to represent their country at the 2012 World Championships in Toronto. UK trials for the Europeans which is the Trial for the Worlds takes place in April.

The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games will be hosted by the Isle of Man, and are scheduled to take place from the 7th to 13th of September 2011.

Cheshire McCain Athletics Network are running three coach and athlete development events in the North West. Sessions will cover off-road, endurance, discus, hammer, sprints, long jump, pole vault, pilates, conditioning, nutrition and biomechanics.
