Zoe Derham added a metre and a quarter to her own Championship Best Performance when the UK ‘s Number One female hammer thrower achieved a season’s best distance of 66.89 metres at the Midland Counties Championships at the Alexander Stadium.

21.Jun.10 Historic trophies add prestige to first ever England Athletics Senior Championships
12 of the trophies from the historic AAA collection which forms a rich part of our sport’s heritage will be in Gateshead for the first England national championships since 2006. That year saw the last AAA Championships, and a senior English national championships has not been held since.

Despite the cold and windy conditions, the U23 and U20 England Championships were very successful with 10 Championship Best Perfomances and many athletes exceeded the IAAF World Junior Championships UKA Qualification Standards.

This weekend we are looking forward to our National U23 and U20 championships. The U20 match doubles as the trials for the World Junior Championships to be held next month in Canada and the U23s will be using the event as vital preparation for next week’s European Trials and UK Championships as well as our National Senior championships on 17-18th July.
