England Athletics and British Athletics combined recently to stage an Eating Disorders Seminar in Loughborough; the aim being to assist staff in understanding their roles and responsibilities in the identification, treatment and support of athletes with eating disorders, and to disseminate the information.

Olympic long jumper Chris Tomlinson has given his support to the campaign by a North East athletics club to build a new training track and field event facilities. Sedgefield Harriers has launched its ‘Back the Track’ project, revealing ambitious plans to secure a synthetic track for the town.

Alan Bertram MBE, coach to both of the 2002 Commonwealth Games hammer gold medallists, and numerous hammer champions has died aged 76. Bertram’s relentless enthusiasm for the hammer has ensured a positive legacy for the event and anybody who has met him will insist that he was more than just a coach.

It was a nail-biting day for the competing teams at the Loughborough International yesterday, with the England's men's team a close second to Loughborough and England's women taking silver from GB Juniors. However this meant the team scores were tied at the top between England and Loughborough.

England Half Marathon champion Tish Jones last weekend travelled to Denmark to fly the flag for England in the Lillebaelt Half Marathon and did not disappoint.
