    21.Sep.09 East Cornwall Harriers awarded Clubmark

    East Cornwall Harriers were recently awarded their Clubmark status.  It was presented by Regional Council member Keith Reed.

  • 21.Sep.09 Vetting and Barring Scheme

    On the 12th October 2009 it becomes a legal duty for providers of a Regulated Activity to refer information to the Independent Safeguarding Authority [ISA] for consideration of that person being barred. Support is available to clubs to help ensure athletics is a safe and enjoyable sport for young people to participate in.

    England Athletics would like to acknowledge Create Development Ltd, and especially Directors John Parsons and Ronnie Heath, in agreeing to look to work with England Athletics over future months to develop an new club based young athlete development model.

    Following on from an Aviva Parallel Success Talent Introduction day being held in Leeds on the 31st October, Leeds City Council are holding a number of open wheelchair racing coaching clinics.

    Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club gained two awards in the East Regional awards recently.  A long standing member won Services to Officiating, and the club itself won the Club - Community Partnership award.

    17.Sep.09 Time to take on the Aussies!

    A select band of English athletes including Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu and world championships medallists Lisa Dobriskey and Jenny Meadows will go head to head with Australian athletes in a special street athletics event in Tyneside this weekend.
