  • 21.Oct.09 Sports Grant awards for Andover and WSEH clubs

    Andover AC and Windsor Slough, Eton and Hounslow AC have been named as lucky recipients of sports funding grants from the Cash 4 Clubs scheme, having been selected by a panel whose distinguished judges included Olympic Gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes, and the Sports Commentator Barry Davies, MBE.

    There are just 6 weeks left to get your application in for a Ron Pickering Memorial Fund grant.  The grants are available for young track and field athletes who are in education and may need financial help towards training or provision of equipment.

    Northwood Academy of Hurdles is preparing for its winter programme.  The Academy has been working with young hurdlers to develop their hurdling techniques indoors at Northwood Stadium, Stoke, and is proud of its record in producing some of the finest national winning hurdlers over the 15 years of its existence.

  • 08.Oct.09 First 300/400m hurdles training day a great success

    18 coaches and over 50 athletes from across age groups from U15 to Vets attended the first 300/400m hurdles training day of the winter at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.   National Event Coach Lloyd Cowan, coach to Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohorugu, led the day to aid the development of both athletes and coaches.
