  • 14.May.13 Seated throws officiating opportunity: 15th May

    An opportunity has arisen for officials to gain some experience with Seated Throws.  Some extra field officials are welcome at the Watford Open tomorrow (Wednesday) evening.

  • 12.Mar.13 Final South Parallel Success Coach and Athlete Talent Introduction Day

    On Saturday 9th March the final event in the series of Parallel Success Coach and Athlete Talent Introduction Days took place in the South.  The event was held at Chelmsford Sport and Athletics Centre and was organised by England Athletics in partnership with British Athletics.

    Alison O’Riordan and Bronwin Carter will be running an introductory workshop which will give coaches an understanding of the classifications relevant to ambulant and seated throws and the relevant basic technical model for each.

    As we move toward the start of our 2013-17 delivery plan from 1st April, we are now recruiting two new CCSO positions across the South and the new London Area teams.

    2012 has been a very special year, with Olympic memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.  For the spectators watching, they just saw the athletes performing..... but those involved in coaching, officiating and administering know that it takes a whole team of people, mainly working quietly behind the scenes, to ensure that an athlete reaches their potential.
