17.Oct.12 West Midlands Schools race the World Marathon Challenge
It was a bright but very cold start for four schools at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham as they arrived to run a marathon each on the track. Teams of approximately 15 boys and 15 girls were taking part in the Save The Children World Marathon Challenge.

02.Jul.12 Staffordshire Olympic Relay and Junior Games
On Saturday 23rd June athletics and running clubs from across Staffordshire took part in a unique, one-off event organised by South Staffordshire Athletics Network, to celebrate the forthcoming Olympic Games in London. The idea from network Chair John Finney was that as many clubs as possible run in an Olympic style relay.

27.May.12 Run England Zero to Hero Group still growing
The newly formed Zero to Hero group registered with Run England is going from strength to strength. The group has over 55 members on Facebook which over 20 who regularly run on a Sunday. The group is increasing in popularity and there is a growing number of ‘newbies’ on a Friday which only started on the 18th May.

Worcester AC’s Jenny Nesbitt made it onto the medal podium to receive her medal from Prince Harry by virtue of finishing runner up in the Women’s Under 17 race at the Virgin London Mini Marathon in a time of 16 minutes 30 seconds

20.Mar.12 Jenny Nesbitt Wins EA West Midlands London Mini Marathon Trial Race
Worcester AC’s Jenny Nesbitt will lead the West Midlands challenge at this year’s Virgin London Mini Marathon on Sunday 22 April after convincingly winning the England Athletics West Midlands Women’s Under 17 Trial race at Stourport Cycleway in a time of 16 minutes 48 seconds by more than two and a quarter minutes writes Tom McCook.
