The Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Northern Athletics Officials Association takes place on 2nd October. At the AGM the members elect the Association Committee for the coming year and are always looking for new blood to bring fresh ideas to the Association.

23.Aug.11 Yorkshire and Suffolk officials get opportunity to learn traffic management
England Athletics are holding a 1 day traffic management course for officials on 23rd October in North Yorkshire and 3rd September in Suffolk. The course is open to Event Organisers and Event Marshalls both in the commercial and voluntary sectors involved with Cross Country and Road Races.

17.Aug.11 First North Yorkshire Coaches' Day to be held
The North Yorkshire McCain Athletics Network will be running a North Yorkshire Coaches' Day on 9th October. The day will involve 3 workshops for coaches to attend; An introduction to Sportshall Athletics and Athletics 365, a generic Strength & Conditioning Workshop and a programme planning workshop.

15.Aug.11 Calderdale working closely with Sports Therapists
Coaches from the Calderdale Athletics Network have been working with Sports Therapists Phil Bolton and Dom Mulwhanney from Leeds Metropolitan University to learn more about injury prevention and diagnosis techniques.

Clubs and coaches in the Calderdale McCain Athletics Network have been benefitting from the use of slow motion Casio cameras and Quintic Biomechanics software, and video analysis technology coupled with speed gates.

11.Aug.11 Calderdale's successful coach development programme
The Calderdale McCain Athletics Network has delivered a series of workshops from November to July on topics ranging from event development, periodisation and planning for senior athletes, injury prevention and physical development in young people using Athletics 365.
