    10.Jun.13 Young athletes enjoy taking part in British Athletics Awards at AAA Tom Pink event

    An AAA Tom Pink Event was held at Sportcity, Manchester and all children attending had the chance to take part in the British Athletics Sportshall Pentathlon Awards and the British Athletics Endurance Awards as well as some exciting track relays.

    04.Jun.13 M60 Athletics Network developing young athletes

    The M60 Athletics Network which covers the Manchester area has run a number of workshops recently to help with the development of local young athletes.  This included a Children's Coach Development workshop, creating a composite young athlete team for the YDL, and a series of Miniathlons for U11 and U13 athletes.

  • 31.May.13 Outstanding day for Seaton Athletic Club

    The athletes of Seaton Athletic Club had an outstanding day at their County Track & Field Championships held in Carlisle. The athletes managed to produce 31 gold medal, 13 silver medal and 16 bronze medal performances.

    14.Apr.13 Officials needed for disability athletics meeting: 11th May

    Following the legacy of the Paralympics, an IPC Permit meeting in Wigan will be one of the first to be a fully inclusive event.  However, more Technical Officials are desperately needed!  So if you are a licensed official and you'd like to either improve your skills at a disability event or perhaps experience it for the first time, why not come along and enjoy some northern hospitality?

    Dhoon School is a small, rural primary school with a weekly, after-school 'fitness club' for school years 3 to 6.  An enthusiastic teacher called Tony Cross takes the indoor classes and local Endurance Coach Steve Partington takes the outdoor sessions.

    Saturday saw the ninth annual occurance of Vault Manchester, attracting athletes aged between nine and sixty. And it was a year to celebrate - the largest number of entries ever, the largest crowds ever, and a new Vault Manchester record for Holly Bleasdale.
