    England Athletics is delighted to announce Craig Heap as a keynote speaker at one of our coaching conferences. Craig, a former GB Olympic gymnast and now Performance Development coach at the City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy.

    In the last few months, six Playground to Podium (P2P) days have taken place in the North. With over 330 young disabled children taking part so far it’s a great start to the programme.

    20.Dec.11 NOTAN host Schools Sportshall Competition

    For the last half term the North of Tyne Athletics Network (NOTAN) have been working with 5 primary schools, coaching their year 3 and 4 children. It has been a very successful term with sessions that were fun and enjoyable for the children giving them a taster of athletics.

    28.Oct.11 First Sportshall Leaders day and Competition held

    On Tuesday 18th October Kevin Hill from Sportshall delivered a day of Sportshall at Norham Community Technology College. This consisted of leaders training with 14 Year 10 students throughout the morning followed by a primary school competition in the afternoon.

    The day before the Great North City Games 2011, where Team GB&NI took on Team USA, forty children, three club coaches and three school teachers all received a sprinting masterclass from an England Athletics Coach mentor.
