21.Aug.12 Benfleet encouraging budding athletes of the future

Following the inspirational last two weeks of Games, around 50 children attended the Benfleet Running Club hosted Aviva Startrack event.

The children - some new to track and field events - competed in runs, throws and jumps and club members were invited to “bring a friend” in the hope of encouraging budding athletes of the future.

Junior Club Coordinator, Karl Cadman enthused after the event saying “After the excitement of the last two weeks, it was great to see so many new faces competing at the event, and shows promise for the Club, and the future of local athletics. Thanks to all who attended and also to all the Club Coaches and Volunteers without whom, these events could not take place.”
