The South Yorkshire Athletics network have become an affiliate of coachingsysport. This is an online 'one stop shop' for coaches in south yorkshire. Coaches can communicate and meet with coaches from other sports and learn from their experiences, provides coaches access to training courses, coach updates and news stories from across the area and new information from the coaching landscape. It allows coaches the opportunity to link with different organisations that may offer coaching and volunteering opportunities as well as providing an online system for coaches to log their coaching hours and keeping their coaching CV updated, with reminders when qualifications may expire.

The target set with the CSP for the networks affiliate for the first 12 months was 50 coaches; in just over 3 months the network has got 46 which is an amazing 92%.

“South Yorkshire Sport chose to support the South Yorkshire Athletics Network by investing in CoachingSY for the network due to a number of factors including, enthusiasm from athletics coaches already utilizing the system attending multiple CPD courses & talent breakfasts. The England Athletics staff expressed an interest and highlighted their ability to work on the system utilizing this to have direct contact with coaches, sharing opportunities, utilizing the news feed & cross working with other NGB’s. Since coming on board with SYS the South Yorkshire Athletics Network has done a tremendous job in working with coaches to value and utilize the coach web system running course and joining the Disability Coaching; Inspire this Generation Mentoring programme.”
